About Us

Candi Zazzara

I am definitely a Carolina girl. South Carolina has been my home for my entire life. Just like me, my parents have called SC home for their lives as well. Growing up we had flowers in our yard, as I have in my own now (iris, peonies, camellias, gardenias, magnolias). My mom has always loved to be a hostess. When I was young, I would always help her set the table with beautiful linens, china, flatware and beautiful glassware. She said her cooking always tasted better on a beautiful plate! So, you can see where I get my love of hosting events, flowers and beautiful dishes. Now, I have a family of my own, a fun-loving husband and two beautiful grown daughters. I still enjoy doing those same things that I did with my parents. After 30 years as a public school teacher/librarian, I have retired. It’s finally the time for me to do the thing I enjoy most, helping others have joyous and beautiful celebrations infused with all of the southern hospitality and beauty that I have known all my life.

Lisa Rutledge

Growing up in Rock Hill, SC, I helped my mom gather and arrange flowers for her parties. My dad was usually the caterer at these events and I quickly became the barbeque chopper! It was then that I realized that I loved everything about entertaining! After college, I married my husband and have we have two beautiful daughters. Throughout my life, I have been helping to host all kinds of events, teas, bridal and baby showers, anniversary parties and weddings. Now that I have retired from public school as a teacher/librarian, I look forward to working with the people in my community, helping them host the event of their dreams.

It seems like fate that we both came to Winthrop College, pledged the same sorority and ended up in the same pledge class after being in the same dance class when we were just 8 years old!

Amid all the fun of college, we hosted teas, dinners and receptions for our sorority and loved making others happy. Our name for our business comes from our college days, the turtle was the mascot for our sorority!

Over the last 30 something years, we have hosted many, many, many events (too many to count) including weddings, birthday parties, bonfires, showers, receptions and business parties. The biggest ones were the 50th wedding anniversary party for Lisa’s parents, a surprise 60th birthday party for Candi’s mom (difficult but she was truly surprised!), the wedding of Lisa’s oldest daughter and the back yard wedding of Candi’s youngest daughter (due to Covid 19 venue restrictions).

All of these events were beautiful with many comments but the biggest compliment from all of the events is that the guests didn’t want to leave!

Now, after 30 something years of friendship and planning events together, we are ready to plan and design for you! Our extensive knowledge of York County and surrounding areas will help us help you take your ideas and turn them into the party of your dreams!
